Research and Development
R&D is the key for any business to achieve future growth, manage product lifecycle and survive the turbulence of emerging disruptive technologies. Although investment in R&D is considered to be expensive and risky, there is no other way to survive without innovation in the long run.
Engineering Catalyst is your extended R&D department and the trusted partner for technology development, research and engineering. We tackle the complex tasks and enable research and innovation from the very low technology readiness levels (TRLs) up to proof-of-technology (POT) and proof-of-principle (POP) prototypes ready for further product design and engineering development and consecutive customization.
We run CFD, FEA and other computer simulations on our own cluster and have a direct access to a research supercomputer capacities. EnCata’s dedicated simulations engineering and R&D team is actively engaged in the following activities:
- Aerodynamic simulations
- Strain and stress analysis
- Fluid dynamics
- Heat transfer
- Antennas and RF simulations
In the last decade EnCata was actively involved in multiple commercial R&D projects and helped business to bring up technologies from a lab bench up to commercial application.
Our small and agile teams, lead by the people with PhD degrees and hundreds of years of combined experience are ready to solve your challenge, whether it is an applied research, knowledge transfer or there is a technology, waiting further tests, optimization and demonstration.
Any well-formulated academic paper of lab research, before being taken for further product engineering, has to go through the basic engineering verification.
In TRL (technology readiness level) terminology the core technology has to reach TRL-3 and TRL-4 and to be demonstrated in a basic proof-of-concept (PoC) or proof-of-technology (PoT) prototype. Such PoCs / PoTs / POPs allow one to measure effectiveness of a new emerging technology and put a solid foundation for advanced engineering development.
Academia and the corporate sector are two different worlds, struggling to pursue technology translation and push blue-sky research towards a working technology or a demonstrator.
We have solved this problem in EnCata, combining innovative project management techniques with interdisciplinary teams comprised of scientists, engineers, PhD students and academic researchers. This proved to be faster, more efficient and thus a more cost-effective approach. So why don’t you consider leveraging risks and costs of R&D with the reliable, agile and cost-effective partner like EnCata?
